With the amount of tools and programs cropping up all over the web for every type of person imagineable, its about time that someone wrote a massive list of resources for bloggers. Fortunately, I’ve taken up that responsibility to share with you some of the tools I use in my daily blogging life. A complete list of search engine friendly (SEO) WordPress plugins for your Blog

After being on WordPress for over four months now, I thought I would compile a quick list of WordPress plugins that I’ve used to optimize my blog for search engines. I have found that most lists out there include a couple of these, so I thought I would try to create a master list of the best SEO plugins for WordPress. These SEO plugins are very useful and actually quite essential if you want your blog to rank well in Google. Most of them require little to no customization and work perfectly right after installation.

1. Permalink Redirect – A very nice plugin that supplies a 301 redirect if the requested URL is different from the post’s permalink. For example, if you were to type in this address into your web browser, http://www.online-tech-tips.com/wordpress/the-best-way-to-move-from-blogger-beta-to-wordpress, it will automatically be changed to include an ending “/” after the post name. This ensures that there is only one URL for each blog post entry and avoids duplicate content issues. Download Permalink Redirect

The Top 30 WordPress Plugins List

Is there any blogger blogging about blogging ;) that hasn’t posted a list of his favorite plugins yet? Well, since I’m now in it too, I might as well do it. But you won’t find a list of my favorite plugins here. I did much better! I compiled a true TOP 30 list of the most popular plugins in blogosphere ;)

The list is based on the Lists of favorite Wordpress plugins, made by Lorelle last month. Lorelle found 48 lists with a total of 280 plugins that were recommended by other bloggers to their readers.

So I went through all those lists and compiled a spreadsheet of the mentioned plugins to see which of them were the most used in blogosphere. Here are the results:

Essential Requirements and Installation

1. Download Latest Version of Wordpress (currently WP2.5.1).
2. Or, you can download previuos versions of WP (from version 0.71 and upwards).
3. Choose a Web Host that can handle Wordpress, without paying a lot for it.
